Master of puppets

Rex W. Tillerson is CEO of Exxon, one of the most profitable (and ruthless) corporations in the world. In 1989, the Valdez, an Exxon tanker, spilled 11 million(!) gallons of crude oil into the waters of Prince William Sound in Alaska, devasting both the local economy and environment. Exxon promised the people of this community, and the rest of the world, it would act responsibly and clean up the mess they made. Thousands of people's lives have been lost or destroyed as a direct result of this negligence, and 17 years later, they still have yet to compensate the people of Alaska. The financial promises they made to clean up the habitats there have largely been oversighted. A court settlement found Exxon liable for a measly $5.3 million dollars. They quickly filed appeals that brought that figure down to about $4.5million. Last year alone, Exxon saw record-breaking profits of over $36 billion. Exxon’s Political Action Committee (PAC) and its employees have contributed $8.3 million to political and federal candidates in the last 14 years (can you say PAYOFF?) AND they have given more than $15 million to phony and junk organizations like the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to undermine real strategies for alternative, cleaner energy. Wonder why the US pulled ship on the Kyoto agreement? Ask Rex, it just wasn’t in his companies interest, and after contributing over $8million to Bush and his cronies over the last 14 years, well someone owed someone a favor.

Diamond Dave and Markie Mark still lay down the law here
Sometimes even turkeys get their feet off the ground for a few seconds. Likewise, sometimes know-nothing computer techs triumph over their machines. This is actually a remix of a cut-up piece done just after David Lee Roth ditched his nose-dive solo career to become a paramedic (a move no doubt done to score prescription drugs) & Mark Wahlberg was in Rock Star. For those truly bored or curious, the original version is at www.soundclick.com/lodemidiquail. No Computer Stands In My Way (p2)

Digital Shaman 4-ever

Those who were there will deny it ever happened. Those who weren't will hear the legends from their ancestors.

Happy April Fools Day to All
Welcome all who've dared enter the den. lodemidiQuail would like to personally thank you for stopping by. I've posted one of the latest and soon-to-be greatest works by the LMQ. This submission is dedicated to the ladies of the Gotham Girls Roller Derby, who have their first match this evening in the Bronx (info available at http://www.gothamgirlsrollerderby.com). Please ladies, go easy on the referees, my good friend Kevin is one of them, and its his first match as ref. Now, shut up and listen. And please, post your comments, whatever they may be.
